Home Supervisor Network Edition 2.00

Home Supervisor Network Edition Publisher's Description

Introduction: Home Supervisor Network Edition gives you the opportunity to remotely control your household lights and appliances via your wireless LAN or choice of Ethernet TCP/IP Connection.  Included with Home Supervisor NE is the PC application and Pocket PC application, giving you flexibility of networking options such as PC to Pocket PC, Pocket PC to Pocket PC etc.  Lighting and appliance automation is available within Home Supervisor NE's easy to use programming environment.  With its event recorder, Home Supervisor NE also monitors, records and displays the time stamped X10 House, Unit, Function event log of other remote devices sending X10 signals, such as Occupancy / Motion Sensors, Keyless remote systems and other Timers or Controllers.  Home Supervisor NE works with the CM11A Computer Interface manufactured by X10 Inc.

Hardware Requirements:

  • CM11A Computer Interface manufactured by X10 Incorporated. The CM11A provides the communication interface between the PC (or Pocket PC) and targeted home automation modules (ie. Lamp modules, appliance modules, wall switch modules, receptacle modules etc.).
  • If connecting your PC server to the CM11A then just connect the serial cable, included with the CM11A, to the PC. If connecting the Pocket PC server to the CM11A then you will also need your device's serial cable with the 9 pin D shell connector on one end. You'll also have to use a DIN 9 null modem between the Pocket PC's and CM11A's DIN 9 serial connections. If you're using a Serial Card adapter, the null modem may not be required however the comm port number would most likely be changed (refer to the Adapter's manufacturer for the comm port number assignment).
  • Compatible PC Operating Systems are Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP.

Home Supervisor Operation: With Home Supervisor NE, the PC or Pocket PC connected to the CM11A interface is the server and the remote device is the client. As a server you can program macros, manually control modules, view motion sensor activity and create your own module description list. As a client you can remotely control modules by sending requests to the server. The client can also start or stop macro programs residing in the server. Motion sensor/module input event logging is also available to the client.

Demo Software Summary: Use our Demo Software of Home Supervisor NE to acquaint yourself with the manual and programmable interfaces.  The demo software can also be used to test network connectivity between your client and server devices.  All module output commands are simulated.
